Euro Link Communications is now an aprroved supplier of the Origin B2 Speed Trap Detector.
The Origin B2 is a state-of-the-art Driver Safety and Information System using GPS satellite technology combined with unique and patented features to warn drivers of approaching speed cameras, mobile hand held police laser guns, accident blackspots, schools and congestion charging cameras.
The Origin B2 is completely legal to own and use in the UK. Right now there around 4,500 cameras operating in the UK, and by the end of 2005 it's estimated that there will be over 13,000. Over two million speeding tickets are issued every year - that's one in every 16 seconds. This number is set to rise dramatically.

Nokia Cark CK 7W posted 12:47 - 13th Aug 2004

Recently Nokia launched a new Bluetooth car kit, the CK 7W. This car kit has the same controls as the standard Cark 112/ CK 1W Bluetooth car kit, it also allows you to have a Pop-Port Compatable Nokia Holder connected to the CK 7W so that you can use you mobile phone in a hard wired hands free car kit.
The CK 7W comes with the universal cable which connects the phone holder to the car kit. The holder required depends on the Nokia phone to be used with the CK 7W. If you live in an area where the signal of your network is weak, we can fit an antenna which connects through an antenna coupler, this fits neatly behind the phone cradle.
If you decide to take the option with the additional cradle you will be able to pair your Bluetooth Nokia hand set with your car kit. This means any time you use the car, the CK 7W connects to the paired phone. Then, should a member of your family use the CK 7W, they simply place their compatable Nokia hand set with a Pop-Port connector into the cradle and use the car kit as a hard wired hands free car kit.
When we install the CK 7W into your car with the phone holder, we will be able to supply and fit a non damaging mountig bracket. This allows the holder to be fitted neatly to the dash board of your car using existing mounting points and requires no holes to be drilled. If you opt for the Antenna Coupler, this will enable an antenna to be connected to the phone holder and can improve your signal during hands free calls.
The following Nokia phones use the Pop-Port connection: 3100, 3200, 6100, 6220, 6230, 6610, 6650, 6800, 6810, 6820, 7210, 77250, 7250i and 9500.
The following Nokia phones are Bluetooth compatable: 3650, 3660, 6230, 6310, 6310i, 6600, 6650, 6810, 6820, 7600, 7610, 7700, 8910, 8910i, 9500 and N-Gage.
Excluding the Nokia 7600, 7610 and the 7700, all the afore mentioned phones have their own cradles.
For further information relating to the CK 7W, email us and we will be more than happy to help.

Final Call For Drivers Using Hand-Held Mobiles! posted 15:05 - 24th Jun 2003

Road Safety Minister David Jamieson announced today that from December 1, 2003, that driving whilst using a hand-held mobile phone will be a specific offence.
Initially offenders will be subject to a £30.00 fine, which can be increased to a maximum fine of £1000.00 if the matter goes to court. The Government is planning legislation to make it an endorsable offence, meaning drivers will get three points on their license each time they are caught holding a phone.
Employers will be liable if they require employees to commit the offence. Use of a hand-held phone to call 999/112 for a genuine emergency whilst driving will be exempt.
The Department for Transport sets out the new law as follows: "The use of a hand-held phone or similar hand-held divice while driving will be prohibited. A hand-held device is something that is or must be held at some point during the coarse of making or receiving a call, or performing any other interactive communication function. Provided that a phone can be operated without holding it, then hands-free equipment is not prohibited by the new regulation".

What are the legal implications of using a mobile phone whilst driving posted 16:15 - 18th Jun 2003

The Motor Vehicles (prohibition on the use of hand-held mobile telephones) Bill, as presented to the House of Commons on 14 November 2001 has ended consultation with the Department of Transport during November 2002.
The Department of Transport propose the 'Prohibition' of the use of mobile telephones whilst driving unless you have a 'Professionally Fitted Hard Wired Hands Free Car Kit' permantly installed into your vehicle.
It is expected that this will be passed as law during the middle part of 2003.
This law has already come into affect in Germany, Holland, Southern Ireland and Italy. Penalties include fines, driving bans and even jail sentences.
With over 35 million users of mobile telephones in the UK, it is clear that mobile phones are a popular and important means of communications. The technology has, and will continue to revolutionise the way people live their lives and companies do their business.
Euro Link Communications will endeavour to keep you up to date with any legislation announcements as and when they occur. More importantly we will ensure that you know how to purchase a car kit that meets the legislative requirements so that you can continue to stay in touch whilst driving without compromising on safety.
High Standards, Quality, Value for Money and Safety are the key features by which we compete.
